MUSIC

For many years Holy Trinity had a large choir of Men and Boys which was  the envy of many of the local churches but in common with most the "supply" of young boys has dried up and the young men who were in the choir have moved on to further education and, with one or two exceptions, now live in other parts of the country or in one case on the continent.

Roger Humphrey is the Head of Music and Organist and does wonders with the limited resources at his disposal. Roger has the invaluable assistance of his wife, Rosemary Pennington, who accompanies them.  Recently David Willcocks came to Holy Trinity and the picture is of him conducting the choir after spending the day with them

Roger and Rosemary also run the Southend Boys and Girls Choirs and the photograph below is of the current members singing in Holy Trinity recently

Another visiting choir

"Continuo" Ladies' Choir from Sopot, Poland.  Their programme  includes sacred and secular music,  solos and some wonderful unaccompanied singing.  This award winning ladies' chamber choir from Southend's twin town in Poland will be touring the UK and staying in Southend for a few days before travelling to Wales to take part in the internationally acclaimed Eisteddfod Festival.  They have performed across Europe and won many prizes in competitive choral festivals.
